MEC 579 brings the work train/local from my previous posting into a town, probably somewhere between Brunswick and Portland. The partial street sign near the edge of the photo does not help, as I cannot find a 'GREE.." street in any of the towns I checked in this area on Google Maps. Cloudier skies for this photo make it harder to determine the probably direction of the train.
I suspect from the number of cars behind the work equipment that a local has be drafted to forward the work equipment, but I do not remember this specific train at all. I am pleased with how much better the negative has survived the test
