Plymouth & Lincoln Equipment Move ExtraFrom 10/31, here was the annual Plymouth & Lincoln's equipment move north, which cleared out most of the Meredith yard with 3 Budd RDC1s, 1 former Lackawanna MU coach, and engines on the front and rear of this train. Since the sun favored the south end, here was P&L 1590 bringing up the rear, as they passed milepost P10 in Thornton NH.
P10 equates to 10 miles north of the former historic Plymouth Station on the Pemigewasset Valley Branch to Lincoln. The former mainline from Plymouth to Woodsville is long gone. This section of track usually sees only equipment moves between Lincoln and Meredith, though last May the MBRE ran an chartered excursion from Meredith to Lincoln and back.
The lineup included:
P&L 1012n (SW1000)
#9159 Budd RDC1
#6148 Budd RDC1 (This was the Boise Budd prototype)
#9151 Budd RDC1
#1001 Lackawanna MU Car (Deer Park)
P&L 1590n (SW1001)
Most of this equipment will be used for excursions in late November & December.
