CSX NA-1 5933 alongside Egawes Drive in Hooksett

From late Wednesday afternoon, February 22, here was the NA-1 Crew with 5933 towing a disabled 381 and 12 empties south alongside Egawes Drive in Hooksett. If the name "Egawes" sounds unique, it's the word "Sewage" backwards since at the end of this road lies the Hooksett waste water facility.

Even with a tattered looking GE B40-8 leading, this sight is rather uncommon for the Northern Main. Most of the time, a single engine would face north on the Local. Here we see two south facing engines. It's been a while since a B40 has powered a Nashua local, though they have been used on coal train power from time to time.

381 last ran on "These NH Rails" in the fall of 2019. First time for 5933 on the rails north of Nashua. Both MEC 5933 and MEC 381 were at one time owned by CSX, prior to CSX ownership of Pan Am.
