NA-1 B&M 326 by Milepost N43 in BowFrom March 21, here was CSX's NA-1 Crew heading north to Concord with four loads of telephone poles and a clay slurry tank car. 4 to 6 loads of poles arriving in Concord weekly, have become common sightings since the start of cold weather. First appearances for B&M 326 on "These NH Rails" in 2023. 326 is the only B&M tagged engine still in service after almost 40 years of Guilford / Pan Am ownership. B&M 330, the other survivor, is stored OOS in Waterville.
On April 1st, new CSX designations and mile posts went into effect here. While this section of track north of the former N38 is still referred to as the Concord Industrial Track, south of N38 it's adios Northern Main and hello Nashua Subdivision.
Mileposts are now changed with the highest number located in North Chelmsford and the lowest in Concord. So the former MPN-1 is now NSU-46 and vice versa. Most if not all the main line mile posts south from the former N38, now NSU 9 have been changed over with the granite mile posts getting the former number covered up, and a new metal mile post added. At this location in Bow, Milepost 43 which is officially Milepost NSU 4 should eventually get a makeover.
Mile post numbers now high from south NSU 46(NC) to low north NSU 1 (Concord)
We'll have a quiz later ! ;)
