Amtrak's "Baystate" New Haven to Boston via Springfield making a station stop on a freezing cold day ( Why the heck was I outside?). Engines PC 7545 and 7548 X-NH GP-9's were still equipped with their steam generators but not much steam visible from engines or train. Not a good sign.

This picture exudes coldness especially without the steam heat vapor in spite of the two boiler-equipped GP-9s which should have kept things cozy inside the cars. I remember being crazy getting those winter shots. Glad we got them now.
