FRAMINGHAM, MA

PC 2453 X-NH C-425 coming off east leg of wye (just west of station) after turning it's consist for deadhead move back to Boston. There was a second commuter the same evening that had the 2454 for it's power, this time engine was headed forward in consist.

Was this wyeing done on the former New Haven trackage at Framingham? In pre-PC days this would not have happened. So interesting that a freight engine (a New Haven Alco at that) was used to deadhead back to Boston (Beacon Park, I am assuming). I wonder if the passenger power was on the other end. An interesting era with PC still doing commuter rail.

"Wyeing" was done on former NYC's Milford Branch ( line going down to GM Auto plant). C-425's were only power on each train. Deadhead move back to Boston would put the power and consist back on the New Haven side.
