P&L 105 by the Jack-O-Lantern Golf Course in Thornton NHFrom Sunday 9/24, here was the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train, powered by the Plymouth and Lincoln's SW1000, #105 shoving north back to Lincoln. This time of year, the Cafe Lafayette Dinner train departs at 5pm and offers a gentle ride while guests enjoy a fine dining experience.
The Cafe Lafayette Dinner trains travel further south than the Hobo RR excursions which reverse direction near the Jack-O-Lantern club house. Milepost P14 is about where the dome car is. The "P" represents the distance measured from Plymouth Station.
P&L 105 arrived just a little over three years ago, in September 2020. The SW1000 was built in 1971 for the New Orleans Public Belt railroad. The repaint came in the winter of 2021. P&L 105 displaced the ALCO S1 #958 as the main power for the Lincoln trains. 958 is operational and serves as a backup, last used in service as recently as the weekend of 9/16 and 9/17.
