P&L 1590 in LincolnThe popular Santa Express Trains and one of the chartered versions of the Journey to the North Pole Trains originate here at the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln.
Lots of Reading Heritage in this lineup which included P&L:
1590 SW1001, 1973 - Reading, Conrail, NS, CITX
9151 RDC-1, 1962 - Reading, SEPTA, MBTA
9154 RDC-1, (Mountain Park) 1962 - Reading SEPTA, MBTA
6148 RDC-1 1955 (Fairview) - B&M, MBTA
9159 RDC-1 1962 - (Winnipesaukee) Reading, SEPTA, MBTA
1002 (Alpine) MU - 1930's - DL&W, EL, NJT
1004 (Mountain View) MU - 1930's DL&W, EL, NJT.
9151 is so famous, it retains it's original appearance devoid of any paint, and never got a name ;-) The 9151 was one of the very last RDC's ever built, the interior was recently refreshed,
6148 was the "Boise Budd Prototype" for the MBTA. Engines were removed, radiator fans and exhaust stacks were plated over. Cab controls remained on one end, while totally removed on the other.
A little snow would have helped to create more of a festive Christmas atmosphere, but on this particular day, mild temps and perfect sunshine ruled.
