L066 MEC 5948 @ Hall Street in Bow

While the GE B40-8's & C40-8's have been used on the 2019-2023 coal trains, the B40-8's were used very sparingly on local service on the Northern Main & Hillsboro Branch since their arrival on Pan Am.. While the B40's are fine to run on the Northern Main, they were banned at the time from the Hillsboro Branch after a run up the Branch in June of 2018, Recent track work and a whole host of improvements on the Hillsboro Branch seems to have changed that thinking.

Here was the big 4000hp GE taking three empties north to Concord. They would grab one more empty utility pole car before running around their train to head south.

MEC 5948 was built in April 1988 as NYSW #4044, before going to CSX as their 5948. 5948 was sold off to GE Capital and became GECX 9056 then acquired by Pan Am in late 2017 and became MEC 5948. These days, the once owned CSXT B40-8 is once again owned by CSXT.
