Sunday Good Luck at Kingston Station

Sunday morning, during an hour from at 1010 to 1110 is always a good time to watch trains, as 7 trains normally pass during that hour. On an occasional good Sunday train 150, here seen behind AMTK 619, is running a little late and is moved over to track 1 to allow Acela train 2290 to get by with minimal delay. On this past Sunday, July 28, Acela 2004, operating as train 2290 at full speed on track 2 overtakes AMTK 619 bringing train 150 to its stop over on track 1. Only about 1/2 the passengers waiting in the photo are heading to 'Boston', having been warned to change sides only about 10 minutes prior to this photo. The other 1/2 are waiting for 'New York' train 161, which will arrive on track 1 in about 8 minutes, giving train 160 time to make its stop and then cross back over to track 2 at Kingston Interlocking, visible from the east end of the platforms.
