L066 MEC 5972 @ Garvin Falls, Bow NH

Here was CSX's L066 Crew making their regular Thursday run north to Concord. 2 loads and 4 empties were on this train, led by the big four axle 4000hp GE. They were passing the Garvin Falls Hydroelectric Power Station.

While the B40's were always allowed to run on the "Nashua Subdivision", under Pan Am the big B's were banned from running on the Hillsboro Branch. Since then, CSX has made
H U G E improvements to the Hillsboro Branch track conditions. The B40's have become more commonplace on "These New Hampshire Rails" since the B40's can run on the Branch.

While some of the patched or lined unpainted B40s & C40s that were purchased by Pan Am look very 'tattered' and worn. (I thank a friend for the 'tattered' term). It would not take much to clean up 5972's appearance.

The disclaimer: Yes, we know 'paint doesn't pull"..
