The Old Depot @ Pepperell, MA

This pretty train station at Pepperell, Mass. was built in 1892 for the Brookline & Pepperell RR, a subsidiary of the Fitchburg RR. According to a local railfan, Billy Stone, the original station was smaller and that an addition - facing the camera - was built in recent years. However they did a nice job. The line was abandoned in the 1940s; I am told that some track did remain around the station until the early 1980s.
