Blizzard of 1978

Amtrak restored Northeast Corridor service immediately after the snow stopped. The Night Owl from Washington arrived at South Station on the morning of February 8th, running four hours late but running at a time where airports and highways were shut down. Recent years have shown that Amtrak no longer considers itself what the New Haven RR used to call "the all weather route".
