As part of annual railfan day activities, the CACV provides it's guests with the opportunity to actually operate a real locomotive. Over the course of the weekend CACV S-7 #8223 is used to provide short trips up and back for a mile or two where the customers get to be at the controls (on a supervised basis). Now that the passenger train has left town, #8223 will swing over to the station track and allow for clearance of the wreck crane extra to head north.
