Wreck crane at work

D&H big hook crane #30021 gets some exercise during the railroad's 150th anniversary celebration. The crane is brought out on an annual basis to provide demonstrations to visitors. It's another piece in the railroad's collection that you don't see in too many other places. It was built in 1926 by Industrial Works of Bay City, Michigan, was originally steam powered. It now has a Caterpillar 6 cylinder diesel in it. It is self propelled, weighs 129 tons and has a 160 ton lifting capacity. It was based out of Oneonta, so it's right at home. It may not look the best, but it runs great!
