[Archive Maintainer Note:]
Scott Dickinson reports that this engine once belonged to the Aroostook Valley Railroad; headquartered out of Presque Isle, ME. The AVR was originally started as an electric passenger service, then they went to diesel utilizing the 44 tonners. The rail used to go to Caribou, New Sweden, Wasburn and all over Presque Isle interchanging with the Bangor and Aroostook(BAR) in Presque Isle. They served the potato industry when it was in its heyday in northern Maine.
