Car 0249 in the yard & a couple of MTA bussesAnother interesting purchased photo, I would guess the orange line, but not sure. If anyone knows I'd like to hear from you.
[Archive maintainer update: Dave Mullen reports the following:]
I believe the image was taken at the rear of the Everett shops. I grew up in the area and my father was a car man and then bus driver for the T working out of Everett yards.
The photo also bears a striking resemblance to images I have seem that were taken by a man named Lew Schnieder on Nov. 30, 1958, at the Everett shops. One of his images that is posted at the website: rrpicturearchives.net, appears to have been taken at the same time and place, but from a different angle.
The image I am referring to is in the Lew Schneider collection 'Boston Trolleys in the 1950s and early 1960s'. The picture is titled 'some of the MTA 25 Dallas double ended cars before repainting.
What stands out in both images is the position of the car jig in the background visible in both images close to the shop building.
I hope this information was helpful in identifying image # 17929.
