AAPRCO Special at Island Pond, VT.

At Island Pond, and the beginning of the St. Lawrence and Atlantic (at the time), the SLR put their own GP40, 3000, on the point of the train to lead until Groveton. This picture was taken from a road that passes over the tracks. There was quite a photo line, with about two dozen photographers and videographers lined up to document the special.

Photographed by Geoff Doane, September 2, 1997.
Added to the photo archive by Geoff Doane, April 13, 2004.
Railroad: AAPRCO.
