Maine Central - Lewiston Lower

The FAIRMONT. There are two or three manfactures of these little buggers. The most common one is (was) made by Fairmont. This model uses about a 8 HP, 1 lung, 2 cycle 'putt putt'. A belt driven system with a couple of flywheels. Ours had blue smoke, curtains and a 'gassey' smell (Dick Stacy would have felt right at home!) if the wind blew just 'wrong'. They weigh about 800 lbs for the little ones and up to 1200 lbs for the delux jobs with a motorized push plate that raises the thing up so you can rotate it with out getting tired.... Nice if there isn't a crossing around to turn on. /DL
