Rockland Branch of the MEC - Wiscasset - MP 49.2

At just over 49 miles from Portland, Wiscasset was our 'Push, Prod, & Nudge' point for access to the tracks.

50 years ago we'd have been looking at the Rockland train station and the platform on the far side of the tracks. Rt1 was & is just out of the picture to the left. Just a few feet behind the camera the WW&F crossed the MEC and continued on pilings over tide water to the docks at waters edge just the other side of Rt1.

On this day it rained. Although the sights were fine, they would have been much better along this exciting coastal rackage had the sun been swimming in a blue sky as it did 2 days later on the Mountain Division. /DL
