Brownstone arched span - New Haven RR Canal line.

This brownstone arched span was masterfully built over the Farmington Canal in Cheshire, CT by the Northampton Canal RR in 1847-48. The rail line help seal the fate of the canal. The line was later absorbed by the New Haven RR and was known as Canal Line which ran from New Haven to Plainville. Today the span is used for pedestrian pursuits as a popular linear park.
