Trackman Casey Leach removing a switch in B&ML's main yard, Belfast, ME

Young trackman Casey Leach helps remove one of the ancient switches in the B&ML's main yard in Belfast, ME. Countless thousands MEC (1871-1925) and B&ML trains rolled in and out of this yard during the road's 135 year lifetime as they made their 33-mile passenger, mail, and freight runs across Mid-Coast Maine's Waldo County to Burnham Junction where the B&ML's tracks connect with those of the Maine Central's main line between Portland and Bangor.
