OCNRR Caboose on the North track

This photo shows the OCNRR caboose on the north end of the Newport Secondary Track last year during a brush clearing operation.

As a result of the new operating agreement with the RIDOT, the OCNRR is no longer able to do the volunteer [MOW] work to keep this end of the track open.

This area has been designated for a combined bike path / railway. Without continued railroad use, it is destined to become another rails-to-trails bikeway.

Photographed by Peter Martin, October 26, 2004.
Added to the photo archive by Peter Martin, September 16, 2005.
