Daffodils on the Newport Secondary

This photo shows the results of an October 2005 Daffodil Planting project in Newport, Rhode Island. Over 6,000 bulbs were planted by volunteers in what was the first of three annual planting events.

The photo shows the intersection of Farewell Street [an appropriate name for a street bounded on both sides by cemetaries] and Americas Cup Avenue.

Along the lower edge of the photo is a section of the Newport Secondary track. To the left is one of the abutments of the former Walnut Street trolley bridge.

Photographed by Peter Martin, April 22, 2006.
