Maine Central #711 at Woodsville NH on the B&M.

Came across the fine photo of an MEC Passenger train which I assumed was taken somewhere on the Mtn Division. However, info from Andrew Davison or North Granby, Ct indicates that this photo was pbly taken at Woodsville, NH on the B&M..... Another observer, who's name I have lost says this is likely an excursion train since there are no baggage cars in the consist...

Brian Dame provided the text below in August of 2007:
- "...fits Woodsville, taken from the crossing tenders two story shanty at Highland and Mill Streets. Train is heading south for Concord, presumably. Signal is W933 with two dummy masts, and the W936 is seen in the distance. 1933 to 1954 based on signals, but the diesels construction date will narrow it down further. All gone today."

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

That should be the 2 story Woodsville station in the background behind the signal mast. The use of MEC motive power suggests this came from Portland up through Crawford Notch and over to Woodsville on it trip south through Plymouth and Concord to Boston.
