Terryville Tunnel

This photo came from an estate sale in Waterbury Ct. It appears to be the digging of the Terryville Tunnel; just north of Waterbury on the Highland Division. (C) 1910 It's 3850 Ft. long. 32 Ft. wide. 26 Ft. high. It took 700 workers(day & night shifts) about a year to remove the 4,600,000 cubic feet of earth to complete the tunnel.It's single tracked today.
