RDC on Narragansett Bay

The Newport Dinner Train has recently purchased two RDCs from Wilton Scenic Railway.

There is no rail bridge connecting Aquidneck Island to the mainland. The cars were deemed too heavy for the local bridges. Therefore, a decision was made to bring them onto the island by barge.

This photo shows the RDC arriving at Hickley Boat yard in Portsmouth, RI after its journey from Quonset Point.
