4-4-0 "Worcester" No. 6

Here is one of the Portland and Rochester Railroad's steam locomotives during the mid to late-1800's. The Boston and Maine later absorbed this railroad and the Eastern Railroad. Lemuel Coolbroth, my great, great, great grandfather was one of the founders of the Portland, Saco and Portsmouth Railroad, which later became part of the Eastern Railroad, and he served as yard conductor. Edwin Coolbroth, his son and my great, great grandfather, was yardmaster for the Portland Yards for many years. The photo is from the collection of Arthur Johnson, my great grandfather. Arthur was an engineer for the Boston and Maine and the Maine Central.
