Conventional Beauty

The date was November 9, 1999, and things felt like days of old with solid blocks of Conrail power still dominating trains on the B&A. Standing on the "old" Route 22 bridge a mile east of State Line Tunnel in Canaan, NY, the once-familiar sound of a 12-cylinder GE under load echoed off the nearby mountains as SEFR(Q422 at the time) came into view with C30-7A 7107 leading two widecabs.

Photographed by Jeff Bray, November 9, 1999.
Added to the photo archive by Jeff Bray, July 31, 2007.
Railroad: CSX (Conrail).
