Across Cold Water

Symbols were still in their infancy in old Conrail territory by the end of 1999. CSX was six months into its ownership of the old B&A a couple days before Winter in 1999. In back of Wright's in West Warren, MA, eastbound Q422(SEFR) was skirting the Quabog River. Eventually, this train would settle into the symbol of Q436 and the old SEPW would get the Q422 designation.

Photographed by Jeff Bray, December 19, 1999.
