Fall 2007 trackwork weekend: setting milepost 7

On Saturday, James Patten measured out the distance to where milepost 7 should be, and he and a small crew set the milepost sign into the ground. This handsome milepost, along with mileposts 5 and 6, were built by Gary Recave. The "W' indicates it is 7 miles to Wiscasset. The crew setting the mile post are (L-R) James Patten, Bill Sample and Charley P.

In the distance is the track crew laying rail. By the end of the day, the track would extend two rail lengths north beyond this milepost.
