Pan Am Railways Loaded Coal Train at Montague, MA

An eastbound Pan Am Railways loaded coal train accelerates out of East Deerfield and begins the climb out of the Connecticut River Valley through Montague, MA at 12:30 pm on 12/15/07. Switch troubles have necessitated the crossover to the normally westbound main (the train can be seen crossing in the distance). It is a mystery as to why the crew left the front door open. Air conditioning was certainly not needed on this day as temperatures were only in the 20's.
