In-House Anthracite

Before the days of Far Eastern coal invading from P&W, CSX was also a player in the game of bringing coal loads to Mt. Tom. A hot and sticky morning in late May of 2002 found CSX ACs switching the plant in Holyoke, MA with a crew out of East Deerfield. More loaded hoppers still waited on the siding.

Photographed by Jeff Bray, June, 2002.
Added to the photo archive by Jeff Bray, December 3, 2008.
Railroad: Guilford (B&M).
