Ultrasounding and Cutting Tubes

Bill Piche and George Collard ultrasound the boiler barrel while Hans Brandes and Rich Currie work on cutting out tubes. While the tubes on #7 actually have very little run time on them, they are over 10 years old and the FRA decided on requiring new tubes for #7 to get her form 4.

This is part of the work being done by the Maine Narrow Gauge Muesum to bring #7 up to FRA Form 4 requirements.

#7 is in the middle of extensive restoration to her boiler, and the museum hopes to have her back in steam by late 2009 or early 2010. For more information, please visit http://www.mngrr.org/engine7.html and follow the progress in our work session reports.
