Just Like Your Uncle's Convertible....

...except she's about 35 tons heavier.

#7 had her cab roof removed a few weeks ago in preparation for lifting the boiler off of the frame today. This is a view of the boiler from the fireman's side of the cab.

#7 is in the middle of extensive restoration to her boiler, and the museum hopes to have her back in steam by late 2009 or early 2010. For more information, please visit http://www.mngrr.org/engine7.html and follow the progress in our work session reports
