This is where the tracks used to be. Standing on the roadway, looking toward East Machias, the tracks used to curve around the East Machias River. Route 1 is in the distance. The road in the foreground goes to Machiasport (to the right). The track was ripped up this summer/fall. The State of Maine is making it a multi-use trail. Places might make for a scenic mountain bike ride.
