Ready for work

Many people have viewed the ex-B&M steam locomotive No 410 currently on static display in Lowell, MA, but I wonder how many know what that locomotive looked like almost 30 years ago as it sat in the weeds, rusting away at Fletcher’s Quarry. I was fortunate to be in the first group of volunteers to see that “site” on July 23, 1979, and I will be posting some “shots” I took during the work effort to prepare the locomotive for its move from Fletcher’s to N. Billerica. The first photo posted here, is of the locomotive during its “in-service days”.
