Funeral Train Part One

On Sept 24, 2009 Edward M Clark passed away. Ed and his brother W. Murray Clark were the co-founders of the White Mountain Central Railroad.
The railroad's Kancamagus Shop worked day and night to convert a 4 wheel flat car into an elegant caisson to carry the casket.
On Sept 28, 2009 a memorial service was held in the pavilion at the Trading Post. When it concluded, family pall bearers carried the casket and placed it on the caisson. A few moments later three long blasts were sounded from a Liberty Ship whistle that came from a ship that Ed served on. Then commenced the final journey with the #6 Climax coupled to the caisson operating at a walking pace and its whistle "moaning" through the covered bridge to a point where the casket was transferred to the Riverside Cemetery.
On January 7, 2010 Ed's brother W. Murray Clark passed away. Both brothers accomplished much in their lifetimes and have left a large legacy for future generations.
