Visitor Comments about this Photo:The Livermore Falls mill was a groundwood pulp operation, not a paper mill. It supplied pulp to the paper mill in Lincoln NH. The box car on the siding is positioned at the loading dock for finished pulp (note the derail in the siding south of the box car). North of the box car was the wood room where the 4ft pulp wood entered the mill and was set up at this stage for either rail of truck delivery. This mill ceased operation around 1952. In earlier days it took in wood from the Beebe River Railroad and from the Waterville valley via Campton Pond. EB&L #5 used to run night trains between Lincoln, Campton Pond, Beebe River and Livermore Falls. Posted by Steven Hall on 2016-07-20 09:32:48 You must be logged on to post comments. |
