Happy HolidaysHappy Holidays to all our railfans!
This morning we hung a holiday wreath on the nose of the 2370 and began what would be her last day in revenue service. The crew headed north to Meredith, to pick up an outbound car, and then switched 3M, pulling two empty clay cars. The consist was dropped off in Concord, along with an empty centerbeam car for interchange with Pan Am. Good bye 2370!
What does the future hold? The 2370 has been sold, and will join two of her sister GP39-2 locomotives (2368 and 2373) on the Ann Arbor Railroad. Next spring we will be taking delivery of another former UP locomotive, an SW1500, which is more in line with current traffic levels.
Best wishes to everyone during this holiday season; please enjoy the wonderful New Hampshire winter, and we'll seen you trackside in the spring.
