Gone But Not Forgotten

A long-stored wooden D&H caboose rests in a lonely field at Watervliet, NY (near Colonie) in 2011. This caboose was recently scrapped. A front-end loaded smashed it to pieces and the remaining metal was hauled away for scrap. A wooden boxcar to the left was also scrapped. Both cars were at least 100-years-old. Sad to see these old-timers end up like that.

Photographed by John Bazan, 2011.
