Firefighting Station, Southbound Receiving - Cedar Hill Yard, North Haven CT

Firefighting Station - Southbound Receiving Yard at Cedar Hill in North Haven. Various Firefighting Stations were placed around the yard due to extremely limited vehicle access and the high possibility of fires. The stations consisted of a water source (hydrant seen here) and a covered wooden box mounted to a pair of posts that housed and protected 100+ft of fire hose. The remains of the hose and posts can also be seen in the photo. When I first visited the area there were one or two of these stations still standing. Two years later they are all on the ground and destroyed due to vandals or weather or both.
