"This BUDD's For You"

The B & M was large user of Budd's RDC cars for their efficiency and economic benefits. They were also comfortable to ride in. These cars soldiered on, and by the end of the 1970's and 1980's seeing these once self propelled cars without a locomotive attached to them was becoming rare as their age and getting near the end of useful everyday life was starting to show.
The Winnipesaukee Scenic and Hobo Railroads have a nice collection of these Budds in restored condition. This car is an RDC9 which has no cab controls and originally came with only one 275 hp engine. The car in front is an unpowered RDC1.
