VTR 311 & NECR 3015 at Glory Days in WRJ, VTJust think of what both of these very well painted locomotives looked like around last year at this time.. While I know the NECR 3015 was the former CN 9457 (GP40-2LW) and had faded CN paint with the zebra stripes, Vermont's 311 looked a lot worse with badly faded 'zebra stripes' and a nose in primer.
Today, both locomotives have certainly gone from the outhouse to the penthouse in appearances. VTR's 311 is the former GP40-2W, CN 9662, and was repainted especially for Vermont Railway's 50th Anniversary for 2014. Both engines were part of the fantastic Glory Days of the Railroad celebration this past weekend in White River Junction.
