Batten Kill Rail Road Spine Car Move -- Thursday March 19, 2015

After spending the last few seasons in storage on the Batten Kill Railroad's Thomson Branch, spring has arrived and it's time for the garbage container spine cars to head home. The Alco RS-3 #4116 has just dropped the 41 outbound cars at Eagle Bridge NY and is waiting for them to clear the switch to head home to Greenwich. At the other end of the train is PanAm Southern's power for the day (NS 7574 LHF) as it draws the lo-n-n-g train westbound out onto the main, and further on to Mechanicville.

Photographed by Cully, March 19, 2015.
Added to the photo archive by John (Cully) Cullinan, March 20, 2015.
Railroad: Battenkill.
