The Screamer and The Searchlight: End of an Era

MBTA F40PH 1013 shoves an inbound out of Reading, towards Boston in what would be my last photo I ever took of an MBTA screamer in active commuter service. Later that afternoon, 1013 broke down and was subsequently retired, ending nearly 40 years of New England railroad history. The searchlight signal on the right will soon be removed, and this scene will look quite different in the ears to come
