The "Winnisquam Scenic".. At Least For a Day !

The Winnipesaukee Scenic turned into the "Winnisquam Scenic" during Laconia NH's Pumpkin Fest this past Saturday. Scenic train rides were offered from historic Laconia station heading south along the shores of Lake Winnisquam and back.

Here the Pumpkin Express crosses over the Winnipesaukee River in Laconia taken from Fair Street Bridge. This is basically a once a year occurrence since this part of the line from Lakeport to Silver Lake Road in Tilton sees very little to no use, though the tracks are maintained.

Here is the Hobo's SW1000 engine taking three non-powered RDC's and a caboose southward. The first RDC-1 is of Reading and MBTA heritage, while the second RDC-9 and the trailing RDC-1 are both B&M and MBTA heritage.
