Mechanicville, NYThis photo shows the hump signal at the apex of the hump lead for the class yard. This signal and the repeaters on tall masts throughout the receiving yard controlled the movements of the engines "humping" cuts of cars out of the receiving yard. The following indications governed: green-fast speed ahead, two yellows-medium speed ahead. one yellow- slow speed ahead, yellow over red- back up, red- stop.
