RS-3 in North StationDuring major snowstorms, the Boston & Maine would add locomotives ahead of its RDC sets to help plow through drifts and ice-filled flangeways that might derail the lightweight Budds. Blue dip RS-3 1518 was working in that role at North Station during a February 1969 blizzard.
