RDCs at South Station

In the 1960's the New Haven's Boston commuter service relied heavily on the road's large fleet of RDCs. Two trains awaited the evening rush at South Station less than three months before the Penn Central takeover. The set at left is headed by one of the unique Roger Williams cab unit Budds, which have been preserved.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, October, 1968.
